There’s a rally in honour of Tina Fontaine on March 3rd, 2018 in Toronto. This is in response to Raymond Cormier’s acquittal of 2nd degree murder in Tina Fontaine’s death.

This event will be held as a protest in the aftermath of the verdict released on February 22nd in which Raymond Cormier was found not guilty in the second-degree murder of 15 year old Tina Fontaine. Systematic colonial violence in Canada still remains rampant and we must take action in letting our governments and leaders know that we will not be silenced. I encourage you to take part in this.

My behavior can be erratic but nothing I ever do is out of malice or bad intent. We had a situation where there was no water in the motel (my home) for over 48 hours. The clubhouse (my actual job) had no water either for a while. We had a technician come in and it took him 6 hours to restore pressure and after he left there we lost pressure again after two hours. That was just at the clubhouse. Motel never received pressure. Saturday night I told Riccardo (my manager) and chef (the big boss) that I could fix the system and showed them exactly how I would do it. They both seemed ok with me taking on the task at the time. There was 0 opposition to my offer. I looked at the job Saturday night and decided that strategically I’d rather take care of it on a Sunday night so that in the event I was unsuccessful we would have all day Monday to fix the pressure (the club is closed on sundays). When the tech failed Sunday morning and my neighbors were complaining to me about showering I decided to go ahead and fix the issue. Regardless of what anyone has said I was 100% effective in restoring the pressure that night. As the pressure was actively rising I attempted to show Andrew (a scrub) exactly how I had done it in the event that I wasn’t available to do it next time. We were going to go back to the tanks to turn the pressure valve off. The pressure was rising at a rate of 1 psi per minute and there wasn’t much of a margin to fool around. I explained this in detail to Pat (the ass hole) when I was approached and his response was “you can walk.” I said “wait…the tanks can burst if I’m late.” He said “you can walk” as he turned his back on me. In response I told him to suck My dick as I took his golf cart to go finish doing what I had set out to do. He called the police. As they administered field sobriety tests I continued to throw expletives in his direction. Explaining that this was wasting time because I needed to shut the valve off. I understand respecting authority but in a situation where the powers that be are prohibiting you from helping the very organization they’re in charge of you can take matters into your own hands. I’ve watched the pressure be restored on those tanks numerous times. I was the only in house employee that knew not only where the tanks were but how to fix them. Before I did what I did the clubhouse had pressure on 40% when it’s supposed to be at 85%. You couldn’t flush a toilet in the motel at 2:00am. When I went back to my room at about 7:00Am after dealing with the police the first thing I did was take a shower. I wasn’t on the clock. I wasn’t getting paid. Everything I did that day was because I care about this club, it’s members, and my co workers. I have my quirks but this isn’t a job to me. I don’t work for the paycheck I genuinely liked this club and the atmosphere. I will live with my decisions and I’m sorry to have put you in another situation where I’ve messed up.
